摘要:A data compression approach using the Wavelet transform represents one of possible edge computing solutions. The main advantage of presented approach is a reduction of transmitted data amount which leads to lower energy demands of wireless transmission in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Acquired environmental data are compressed in a microcontroler implemented as central computational unit in an environmental sensor node and then they are transfered by a communication interface. In this article the Wavelet transform is applied with using four types of mother wavelets - Haar wavelet, Meyer wavelet, Symlet wavelet and Biorthogonal wavelet. In experimental section a dataset with temperature and CO2concentration parameters was used for testing of the proposed solution. The conclusion of the paper presents summary of suitable Wavelet transform configurations applicable in edge commuting WSN scenarios.
