摘要：Themain aim of this study is to reveal the impacts of 1994, 2001 and 2009 economiccrisis on the four health behaviors of population in Turkey between 1974-2015through ARDL bounds testing approach. According to the results, in terms of theimpacts of economic crises on the health behaviors, it has been found theeconomic crises have had no significant impact on tobacco consumption(p>0.05). On the other hand, only the 2001 and 2009 economic crisis have hadan increasing impact on alcohol consumption (p0.05). For sugar consumption, onlythe impacts of the 2001 and 2009 economic crisis were significant (p0.05). Diğer taraftan, sadece 2001 ve 2009 ekonomik krizleri alkol tüketimi üzerinde artırıcı bir etki yapmıştır (p<0.05). Sebze-meyve tüketimi için 1994 ve 2001 ekonomik krizleri anlamlı bir şekilde negatif etki yaparken, 2009 krizinin etkisi anlamlı bir şekilde pozitif olmuştur (p<0.05). Şeker tüketimi içinse sadece 2001 ve 2009 ekonomik krizlerin etkisi anlamlıdır (p<0.05). Bu bulgulardan, ekonomik krizlerin sağlık davranışlarını hem negatif hem de pozitif yönde etkileyebileceği söylenilebilir.
