摘要：The main purpose of this study, which iscomposed of the theoretical framework, Functional Grammar model, is to examinethe number, intensity and types of nominalization usage from the grammaticalmetaphorical perspective in the 3rd grade science textbook which was renewed in2017 with the Science Teaching Program. Documeview method was used in the research. Nominalization word types weredetermined and frequency of nominalization types were determined. In each unitof the textbook, the ratio of nominalization words to total words wascalculated and the density of nominalization was found. According to this, -mAKattachment 175, -mA attachment 522, -DIK attachment 346, - (y) AcAK attachment56, - (y)Iş attachment was used 31 times.Nominalization density is 7,37%. It can be argued that this study may contributeto a better understanding of the level of nominalization in primary schooltextbooks. Kuramsal çerçevesini Dizgeci İşlevsel Dilbilgisimodelinin oluşturduğu bu çalışmanın temel amacı, 2017 yılında hazırlanan Fenbilimleri Dersi Öğretim Programıyla birlikte yenilenen 3. sınıf fen bilimleriders kitabında dilbilgisel eğretileme perspektifinden adlaştırma kullanımsayısını, tiplerini ve yoğunluğunu incelemektir. Araştırmada doküman incelemesiyöntemi kullanılmıştır. Adlaştırılmış kelime tipleri belirlenerek adlaştırmatiplerinin sıklıkları bulunmuştur. Ders kitabının her bir ünitesinde,adlaştırılmış kelimelerin toplam kelimelere oranı hesaplanarak, adlaştırma yoğunluğubulunmuştur. Buna göre –mAK eki 175, -mA eki 522, -DIK eki 346, -(y)AcAK eki56, -(y)Iş eki 31 kez kullanılmıştır. Adlaştırma yoğunluğu ise % 7,37’dir. Buçalışmanın, ilkokul ders kitaplarındaki adlaştırma düzeyinin daha iyianlaşılmasına katkıda bulunabileceği ileri sürülebilir.
