  • 摘要:Fatigue behavior takes a special relevance in manufacturing aeronautical parts due to safety reasons. Considering friendly environmental techniques, dry machining results in higher severe cutting conditions, which may negatively affect the part surface integrity, depending on cutting parameters values applied. In this sense, surface finish can be related to fatigue behavior. Notwithstanding, there is a lack of research that evaluates how cutting parameters affect fatigue life of aeronautical aluminum alloys, and their relationship with geometrical deviations. This work aims to analyze cutting speed and feed-rate influence on fatigue behavior of aeronautical aluminum alloy UNS A97075-T6 dry turned specimens. In order to do this, several rotating bar bending fatigue test have been carried out. Surface roughness have been also analyzed through the arithmetical mean roughness value (Ra) and the mean roughness depth (Rz). Results obtained seem to indicate that an increase of feed-rate and cutting speed negatively affects the fatigue life of the tested specimens, taking surface conditions a special influence in this behavior.
