摘要:The purpose of this study is to investigate, at the time when the limits of system function is reached, how the impact on driver behaviour differs in (1) the case where there is a simple takeover from automated driving level 3 to manual driving (level 0), and (2) the case where there are changes among multiple automated driving levels from level 3 to level 0. A driving simulator study was implemented with thirty-six participants. Results showed the time required for a driver to take over driving operations, and the elapsed time the driver turned his/her gaze forward were both relatively longer in case (2) than in case (1). The results suggest that it might be difficult for drivers to understand what should be done when the system changes its level dynamically depending on the situations.
