摘要:Mafalda is an Argentine comic strip written and drawn by artist Joaquín Salvador Lavado Tejón(Quino) which ran from 1963 to 1974.1 Among her many insightful comments to her parentsand friends, one of them came to my mind recently: “As usual, the urgent things leave notime for the important ones.” What strikes me now about Mafalda’s observation is the questionof whether academic articles in journals are about what is urgent or what is important.Obviously, many authors will shout “Both!” but there is no doubt that only rarely does a publication address both urgent and relevant topics. The reason for this, at least at the structurallevel, is how much time journals take to publish.
