摘要:This paper studies carbon management foroptimisation of lot sizing in manufacturing under the stochasticmake-to-order production planning environment, with an aim tomaximise operational profit. It covers not only about thebusiness benefits, but also about the ecological impingementsinvolved with production planning. Our main concerns arefocused on two primary green factors—carbon tax and publicgreen awareness—to address their respective impacts onproduction planning, because carbon tax inevitably increasescost while public green awareness affects customers’ inclinationtowards green products and hence market demand. The resultunderscores the critical roles played by carbon management inmanufacturing for achieving both ecological and economicbenefits. It also provides managerial insight into operationsoptimisation in production planning to help firms abateecological deterioration resulting from carbon emissions whenachieving their economic performance.
