摘要：In this study, firstly, thepsychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Home Screening Questionnaire (3-6 years form), which isused to evaluate the quality of the home environment of young children, wasexamined, and then the relationship between the quality of the home environmentand the variables related to parents and children were examined. Data wascollected from 306 mothers of young children by using Demographic InformationForm, Home Screening Questionnaire and Abilities Index. The psychometric properties of theinstrument were investigated by exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses,item analysis, and internal consistency coefficient. According to the resultsof the analysis, the questionnaire is a single factor instrument consisting of12 items and its psychometric properties are at an acceptable level. There wasa moderate and significant relationship between the quality of the homeenvironment and the level of education and income of the mothers and the levelof education and income of the parents living in low-quality home environmentswere found to be significantly lower than the other group. In addition, thereis a significant and negative relationship between the developmental functionsof children and the quality of the home environment. The home environment ofchildren with lower developmental functions was found to be less favorable thanthe home environment of children with higher functions. The findings of thestudy were discussed in terms of the psychometric properties of the 12 itemsTurkish version of the instrument and the utility of the instrument in both themedical and educational fields.Bu çalışmada küçük çocukların evortamlarının kalitesini değerlendirmek amacıyla kullanılan Ev Ortamı TaramaAracı (3-6 yaş formu) Türkçe Formunun psikometrik özellikleri ve ev ortamınınkalitesi ile ebeveyn ve çocuklara ilişkin değişkenlerin ilişkisi incelenmiştir.Veriler Demografik Bilgi Formu, Ev Ortamı Tarama Aracı ve Yeterlik İndeksi ileküçük çocuğa sahip 306 anneden toplanmıştır. Aracın psikometrik özellikleriaçımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizleri, madde analizi ve iç tutarlıkkatsayısı ile araştırılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; aracın Türkçe formu 12maddeden oluşan tek faktörlü bir yapıya sahiptir ve psikometrik özelliklerikabul edilebilir düzeydedir. Ayrıca, ev ortamı kalitesi ile annelerin eğitim vegelir düzeyi arasında orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki vardır; düşük kaliteli evortamlarındaki ebeveynlerin eğitim düzeyi ve gelirleri diğer gruba göre anlamlıdüzeyde düşüktür. Çocukların gelişimsel işlevleriyle ev ortamlarının kalitesiarasında anlamlı ve ters yönde ilişki vardır, gelişimsel işlevleri az olançocukların ev ortamları yüksek işlevli çocukların ev ortamlarından daha azkalitelidir. Çalışmanın bulguları, aracın Türkçe formunun psikometriközellikleri ve hem tıp hem de eğitim alanında kullanılabilirliği çerçevesindetartışılmıştır.
