摘要：This article is about Antonin Salajka (1901–1975). This author was the first czech catholic priest laureated in Pontifical Institute of Oriental Studies in Rome (in 1930). Our paper first presents Antonin Salajka’s life and then introduces his work. The aim is on the Christian East, as half of his scientific work focused on this theme (cca 280 item). Next, our effort in this article aims at a detailed analysis of author’s conception and reasons for the study of the Christian East. He related his study to a great extent to the study of church Slovanic. The fundamental elements of Salajka´s conception were: (1) history of orthodox churches, variety of orthodox liturgical traditions, reasons for the so called East-West schism of 1054; (2) deeper knowledge of orthodox theology in a so-called comparative dogmatic theology; (3) introduction of his endeavour towards unification of all christian churches. Finally this article presents Salajka’ project aimed at the establishment of Institute for study of the Christian East in the 1940s in Prague.
