  • 摘要:Since ancient times, natural products are extensively used by humans as a source o f remedies against various diseases. Recently, most o f the research is focused on discovering potent compounds from natural resources. Housefly (Musca domestica)in this regard has been proven clinically to be an effective cure in several illnesses, when combined w ith other drugs. In the present study, adult housefly methanolic extract (M DM E) has been evaluated for antiangiogenic potential through CAM Assay. The in-vitro anti-inflammatory potential o f the MDME has been examined using human red blood cells (HRBCs) membrane stabilization assay and protein denaturation assay. The antioxidant activity has been determined by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. The MDM E has stabilized erythrocyte membrane at a concentration o f 15 ^g/m l, whereas acted as anti- denaturant o f egg albumin at 80 ^g/m l and scavenged the free radicals at 350 ^g/m l. Moreover, M DM E has ably inhibited the growth o f existing blood vessels and blocked the formation o f neovascularization. The maximum diameter, and 3D roughness o f PBVs, SBVs and TBVs has been inhibited at a dose o f 120 ^g/m l. From the results it can be concluded that the M DM E can serve as an effective source o f therapeutic agent against oncogenicity.
