摘要：The subject of this research are members of firefighting and rescue units as one of the subjects of the integrated system of safety, protection and rescue of people, property and the environment in the context of occupational and environmental safety. In contemporary society, environmental safety holders are members of firefighting and rescue units making environmental safety inevitably dependable on the safety of firefighting and rescue units. The research is focused on testing, determining and identifying factors that influence an increased number of occupational injuries in firefighting and rescue units during emergency response interventions through the members1 perception of professional risk and its implications. The results indicate that almost all respondents consider their knowledge and skills applicable in the emergency response stage, but less than half of them think their abilities are applicable at the stage of prevention. Two thirds of the respondents state they have support for further education and training in their organization, while half of the respondents believe they need additional education for identifying, assessing and managing the risks that could lead to emergencies.
