摘要：This special issue consists of 11 publications focussed onlandslide–transport network interactions. Across a range ofenvironments, landslides and transport networks are inher-ently interlinked both in terms of process (e.g. slope mod-ification increasing the probability of landslides) and im-pacts (e.g. landslides blocking transportation networks). Inthis preface we describe four research challenges for betterunderstanding landslide–transport network interactions thatare addressed by the 11 publications that constitute this spe-cial issue and research from the broader community. Thesefour research challenges consist of the following: (i) access-ing records of landslides, (ii) better understanding landslidesusceptibility, (iii) methods addressing the unique setting oftransport networks in steep topography and (iv) future driversof landslide transport interactions.
