  • 摘要:This work was designed to determine the physical properties of Parthenium hysterophorus L. mediated compost and analysis of its allelopathic effect on germination and growth of Arachis hypogeae L. We investigated various physical properties of compost such as pH, electrical conductivity, moisture content, percent pore space, bulk density, particle density were analysed. In addition to seed germination, radicle length and plumule length of Arachis hypogeae L. were determined for allelopathic effect of Parthenium mediated compost. Various concentration of cow dung and Parthenium mixed compost as well as parthenium alone compost were prepared. This experiment reports that 60th day old compost, the highest concentration of cow dung mixed parthenium (parthenium: cow dung) (1:4 and 1:3) compost respectively showed similar soil physical properties along with 96% of seed germination, highest growth level of radicles (87.2 and 85.3 mm) and plumule length (22 and 21.8 mm) when compared to other treatments and control.
