摘要：Water is life. It is the foundation for health, hygiene, progress and prosperity. Therefore efficient water management is essential to civil society for the betterment of quality of life. The objective of this study to access out the supply water pollution status of Umiam area, situated in the Ri-Bhoi district of Mehgalaya; Chemical analysis of samples were carried out for tape water as it is a source of supply water, in order to assess the physico-chemical parameters like pH, TDS, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium fluorides, chlorides, fluoride, arsenic, nitrite, potassium, iron and also microbiological tests examined, all Samples were collected randomly from the tape water around Umiam area, in order to find out the water quality status around area. The values of analysed samples were compared with the guideline of international standard. Present study may be treated as a step ahead towards the drinking water quality management.
