摘要：This issue of Agenda with the theme of prototypical women serves asan intervention to identify and foreground significant women. It is anintervention that decries the relative invisibility of women in our his-tories. The original call for papers noted that the issue envisagedshining a light on women who have altered the course of history for agroup. Its intention was to tell the stories of prolific women throughoutAfrica, to remind us of those women who are already known and there-fore visible, but also those who operate in the background and out of thelimelight. Allowing for the diversity of women, it seeks to celebrate thecontribution of women within collective movements for social justice.
