摘要:Breakfast is the most important food in the morning, but often missed and skipped. The objective of this study was to analyze the use of media in nutrition education on knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of the breakfast habits on elementary school students. The design of this study was quasy-experimental. Total subjects in the study were 166 elementary school students in grade 5 of public elementary school (PES) from 4 selected PES in Brebes City, Central Java-Indonesia. The intervention groups in this study were poster media group, leaflet, multimedia and without media. Scores of subjects breakfast knowledge and attitudes were increased after the intervention. Subjects breakfast practices also increased after the intervention, but still categorized as "less" and have yet to meet the nutritional adequacy. ANOVA test results based on changes in the scores of subjects breakfast knowledge at baseline and end line showed no significant difference (p>0.05), while based on changes in the scores of subjects breakfast attitudes showed significant difference between the media (p<0.05). Subjects breakfast attitudes and practices showed better improvement in L (leaflet) group. This implied that the intervention of nutrition education using the media particularly leaflet, was more effectively improved subjects breakfast attitudes and practices.
