摘要:In this work, of a descriptive-exploratory nature, we analyzed police inquiries opened at the Specialized Police Station for Assistance to Women (DEAM) of a municipality in the Northeast of Brazil, seeking to investigate the configurations violence against women can assume. We analyzed 100 surveys for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 (N = 300). The collected data were submitted to textual analysis performed with the aid of the IRAMUTEQ Software. In summary, the results found here show that there is no specific profile of women who are victims of violence and that their aggressors are mostly men known to them. In addition, there is a prevalence of psychological and physical violence and it is possible to observe an association between alcohol and other drugs and the violence they suffer. Finally, this study provides support for further discussions on this topic and on the need to develop more effective methods of intervention in cases of violence against women.
