摘要:The aim of this study was to develop a multiple choice test determining the scientific inquiry skills of secondary school 7th and 8th grade students. The study was carried out using the scanning model. In the development process of the test, a multiple choice test consisting of a total of 30 items was formed based on the matching of the inquiry skills presented by Wenning (2007) and the inquiry skills included in the curriculum of science course (2018). Expert views were consulted for the content and construct validity of the test. The test, which was corrected according to expert opinions, was applied to a total of 250 students, 120 7th grade and 130 8th grade students studying at a public school which was selected with the appropriate sampling method. The data obtained after the application were analyzed using MS Excel and statistical package program. In the consequence of analysis, eight items whose item discrimination value was less than .20 were excluded from the test, and “Scientific Inquiry Skills Test (SIST)” consisting of a total of 22 items was obtained. The mean difficulty of SIST was moderate (p = .48), and the level of discrimination was very good (rjx = .55). As a result of the KR-20 reliability analysis, the reliability coefficient of the test was found to be .82. In the light of the findings, it can be said that the Scientific Inquiry Skills Test is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to determine the students' scientific inquiry skills.
