摘要:Salinity is a major abiotic stress and has negative impact on plant growth and development. In the world wheat is more cultivated crop and known for staple food but its yield decreased due to salt stress. This experiment was conducted to ameliorate the negative effects of salinity (OmM,75mM and 150mM) on wheat (Galaxy 2013,Zincol-2O16,Pakistan-2013 and Chakwal-50 2008) by the application of Nigella saliva L.seed extract (NSE) as foliar spray (0mM,50mM,100mM and 150mM).Results of this field experiment revealed that salt stress reduced all growth parameters, glycine betaine (GB) and proline contents while increased hydrogen peroxide (H202) and malondialdehyde (MDA) accumulation.Foliar spray of NSE showed improving results for all growth parameters and increased the level of proline and GB contents while decreased H2O2 and MDA level.Of all varying levels of NSE,150mM showed more ameliorating effects on all wheat varieties.Among all the varieties Galaxy-2013 showed the best performance as compare to other varieties.
