摘要:Corncob was used as a low-cost biosorbent to remove malachite green (MG) from its aqueous solution. The influences of process parameters, such as initial pH,adsorbent dosage, temperature, contact time, and initial MG concentration on its adsorption capacity were investigated in a batch system. The equilibrium data were evaluated using the Langmuir and the Freundlich isotherms, and the former provided a perfect fit with the 9milxof 84.75 mg / g at 318 K.A new method derived from the Langmuir equilibrium constant Kl was firstly proposed to estimate the thermodynamics. The obtained negative AG values and positive AH values demonstrated a spontaneous endothermic process of MG onto corncob. The adsorption kinetics could be excellently described by the pseudo-second-order model. The intra-particle diffusion model plot showed a multiple linear feature. It was concluded that the intra-particle diffusion was one of the rate-controlling steps in this process. The natural corncob was proved to be a promising adsorbent to treat dye wastewater.
