摘要:The problem of matching water supply and demand is particularly acute in the context of climate change resulting in a decline in surface water resources. This study aims to assess the availability of the water resource of the Bandama River to meet the drinking water needs of the localities of Sinfra and Gagnoa (West-Central of Cote d’Ivoire) by 2035.To do this, the water balance was established to assess the water resource. The ratio of project flow to withdrawable flows during the year of severe low-water levels (1984) was used to assess the capacity of the resource to meet water needs by 2035.The results showed that only 4.73% of the rain that falls on the study catchment area passes through the outlet. In addition, the available water resource can satisfy the water needs of the population in 2035 in conditions of low water levels similar to those of 1984 if current conditions in the catchment area remain unchanged.Indeed, the flow in severe low water (April 1984) which is 2.16 m3/s is about 4 times the project flow (0.58 m3/s).
