摘要:To feed the increasing population of the world,we should adopt the efficient technologies to produce more food on sustainable basis.Nanotechnology has high potential to increase the productivity of agriculture sector.Plant nutrients in form of nanoparticles or nanofertilizers have more availability to plants and increase the growth and yield of crops. In this regards,an in vitro experiment was carried out to determine the effect of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on growth of potato explants. These ZnO NPs were synthesized from moringa leaves and applied with different concentrations (0,0.1,0.5,1,15,30,45,60,75,90 and 105 ppm) along with MS media.Data pertaining to plant height, number of leaves and shoot recorded at different time intervals exhibited that ZnO NPs increased plant height, number of shoot and leaves in potato explants.ZnO NPs at 45,60 and 105 ppm increased number of leaves while plant height was maximum at 0.1 and 1 ppm along with MS media. This indicates that ZnO NPs have potential to stimulate the growth of plants in in vitro condition. In short, appropriate concentration and physicochemical properties of the Zn nanoparticles could significantly improve potato growth under in vitro condition.
