摘要:Effect of harvesting residues collected from needle, bark and branches of Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) was investigated on morphology and quality in one and two-year bare root seedlings originated from a seed stand and a seed orchard population of the species based on seedling height (SH) and root-collar diameter (RCD). Average of SH of first year was the highest in Bark treatment (11.72 cm),while RCD was the highest in needle treatment (3.10 mm) in polled seed source. They were 22.38 cm for SH,and 3.93 mm for RCD of second year in control treatment.Positive and significant (p<0.05,r= 0.528&0.552) relations were found between seedling height and root-collar diameter in both one and two-year seedlings.Besides, there was no statistically significant (p>0.05) differences among treatments for the characteristics of one year seedling according to results of analysis of variance opposite to characteristics of second year (p<0.05),while seed sources showed statistically significant (p<0.05) for the characteristics of both years. According to seedling quality classes of Turkish Standard Institute,25% for SH and 8.2% for RCD in first year, and 17.0% for SH and 1.0% for RCD in second year were unsuitable for plantation. Results of the study showed that the harvesting residues were effective on morphology and quality of seedlings in the species.
