摘要：There is a statistic which I keep repeating, and for a set of very good reasons - one in seven of the adult population within the UK is, to a greater or lesser extent functionally illiterate. In normal times I would be pointing out just why this means we need to focus more of our attention upon adult literacy classes based within public libraries, with all the books and teaching aids to go with that (that's in normal times). Now with all Public Libraries closed for a while, this needs some rethinking.
