摘要：Based on my research on the structuring of interethnic relations in the framework of the Spanish colonization of the Patagonian coast in the late 18th century, in this paper I will present information about the genealogy of Cacica María. I will offer arguments for not only her tehuelche origin, but about the ties that her family holds with the aforementioned colonial enclaves, especially with the settlement of Puerto Deseado (Santa Cruz province). In this regard, I am interested in incorporating both unpublished historical information as well as sources edited, although scarcely deepened in the bibliography consulted. Beyond the genealogy of the cacica, it also sought to contribute to knowledge about both intra and interethnic relations as well as the territories of southern tehuelches in the transition from the 18th to 19th centuries, marked by deep political and social changes.
