摘要：The aim of this article is to focus on one of the most common Moroccan female characters in twentieth-century Spanish narrative, a character influenced by the mythical Scheherazade. The article analyzes the archetype in sixty-two literary sources —novels and short stories— written by women. The analysis takes a necessary gender perspective, and is grounded on the theoretical principles of postcolonial criticism and cultural studies.
