摘要：This study aims to identify the role of event tourism in the socio-economic development of the territory. The article presents approaches to event tourism, studies the characteristics of event tourism, describes the stages of formation of event tourism in the Russian Federation, describes a successful experience in the development of event tourism in the Rostov region, and also identifies factors that restrain the development of event tourism.
