摘要：The article is devoted to a relevant topic - formation of approaches to improving the management system of the process of handling solid municipal waste. An analysis of the available scientific sources allows us to conclude that there is a trend in the integration of project management and the concept of sustainable development in the Russian industry. On the basis of the process and design approaches, the authors have proposed a structural and functional model of the processes of handling solid municipal waste at the regional level, the result of which will be the transformation of part of the waste into secondary materials and energy resources.
