摘要:Contrasting the political ambitions on the next generation of government, the uptake oftechnology can lead to digital sclerosis characterized by stiffening of the governmentalprocesses, failure to respond to changes in demand, and lowering innovation feedback fromworkers.In this conceptual article, we outline three early warnings of digital sclerosis:decreased bargaining and discretion power of governmental workers, enhanced agility andability at shifting and extended proximities, and panopticonization.To respond proactivelyand take preventive care initiatives, policy makers and systems developers need to besensitized about the digital sclerosis, prepare the technology, and design intelligentaugmentations in a flexible and agile approach.
