  • 摘要:AbstractThe electronic controlled multi-disk wet clutch transfer case is used in the on-demand 4-wheel-drive(4WD) vehicle. The temperature is an important status of the clutch because the friction characteristic would change with the temperature, and the clutch may be damaged at extremely high temperatures. However, there is no temperature sensor in the transfer case due to the limitation of manufacturing cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a model-based transfer case clutch temperature estimation method and verifies the effectiveness of the method by bench experiment. First, the heat generation model is established, second, the temperature increment of the clutch is calculated by the partial differential equation, then, the coolant temperature is calculated by the conservation of energy principle, last, the bench test is done and verified the effectiveness of the method. The mean value of absolute error between the model and the test result is 4.53°C, which satisfied the requirement of accuracy and practicability.
