  • 摘要:A series of experiments of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) slabs were conducted at different ceiling height to investigate the horizontal flame spread characteristics of combustibles polymers beneath the corridor ceiling. The growth of flames beneath corridor ceiling have three different fire behaviors depending on sample width and ceiling height, namely steady regime, slowly increasing regime and rapid grown regime. The temperature distribution at ceiling of steady horizontal PMMA fires are exponential function to the longitudinal distance for both upstream and downstream. Flame spread rate in open space shows a “dip” at W=5 cm. But the “dip” disappeared in corridor because of the increasing radiative heat flux. The flame spread rate and mass loss rate both increases with sample width and decreasing ceiling height.
