  • 摘要:Oliveira EKS, Dalamaria T, Pinto WJ, Farias ES, Souza OF. Association between Corporal Adiposity with Socio-Familial Aspects, Physical Activity and Screen Time in Adolescents in the Brazilian Western Amazon. JEPonline 2019;22(5):63-72. The purpose of this cross-sectional, school-based study was to analyze the factors associated with body adiposity in 1,354 high school adolescents 14 to 18 yrs of age in a city in the western Brazilian Amazon. Arm fat area and body mass index were calculated. Factors associated with excess fat and excess body weight were identified through multiple logistic regression. The prevalence of excess fat and excess body weight were 21.5% and 22.5%, respectively. The factors associated with excess fat were being male, not residing with a teenager, studying in a private school, parents that rarely controlled the time of watching television or playing video games for more than 4 hrs∙d-1 on a weekday, and participating in <300 min∙wk-1 of sports practice. The factors associated with being overweight were studying in a private school and participating in <300 min∙wk-1 of sports practice. The findings indicate that there is an important association between body adiposity and socio-familial aspects and sedentary behavior in the adolescents of the Brazilian Western Amazon.
