The purpose of this study was to identify the association between physical activity level and nutritional status of the elderly assisted by a Family Health Strategy team from a Brazilian Capital. This study collected data from the following anthropometric indicators: body mass index (BMI), calf circumference (CC), triceps skinfold thickness (TSF), Arm Muscle Area (AMA), arm muscle circumference (AMC), and Mini Nutrition Assessment (MAN), and for the level of physical activity the International Questionnaire of Physical Activity (IQPA). There was a predominance of females in the sample (65.8%). Most (43.5%) were between 70 and 79 yrs of age with an average of 73.09 ± 7.67 yrs of which 43.3%, 59.5%, and 77.4% were classified as eutrophic according to the BMI, AMA, and MAN, respectively. According to the WC, 65.9% were without risk of malnutrition. According to the AMC, 47.2% were in a state of moderate malnutrition, and 29.4% were obese according to the TSF. Regarding the classification of the physical activity level of the elderly, 79.4% were inactive and only 2.4% were classified as active.
