摘要:Physical urticaria is a group that develops against various specific external stimuli, including exercise, cold, heat, pressure, sunlight, vibration, and water. Cold urticaria is the second most common after then symptomatic dermographism among all types of physical urticaria. A 16 years old female patient with complaints of redness, swelling, and itching in her hands after contact with cold air and cold water, which was eventually diagnosed with cold urticaria, is presented. No pathological findings were found in the physical examination and laboratory tests of the patient. Ice cube was applied to the forearm surface of the patient for five minutes. Three minutes after removing the ice, the patient was found to have swelling, redness, and itching in the ice applied area. The patient was diagnosed with cold urticaria and was started antihistamine therapy with the recommendations. Her complaints were decreased during the follow-up visits. We think that increasing physicians' awareness about physical urticaria subgroups, including cold urticaria, will help the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.
