摘要:Salinity is one of the major harmful factors lim-iting crop production in arid and semi-arid region. So, in the current study we try to clarify the mecha-nism that might be involved in the ameliorating ef fects of salinity stress at 1500 and 3000 ppm(Sl and S2) on soybean plants by osmo-protectants such as proline(200 ppm) and ascorbic acid(400 ppm)indi-vidually or in combination. Our results indicated that salinity stress induced a significant reduction in mor-phological and physiological characteristics such leaf number, leaf area, dry weights of stems and leaves, chlorophyll a and b as well as relative water content. Additionally, salinity stress led to increase electrolyte leakage, lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species in stressed soybean plants compared with control plants. Nevertheless,application of pro-line (Pr) and ascorbic acid(AA) individually or the combination (Pr+AA)under seawater stress(SI and S2)conditions significantly improved the most of studied characters.
