摘要:Human populations inhabit terrestrial envi- ronments, and microplastics (MPs) are a form of pollution that is extensively distributed and accu mulates in the terrestrial environment and living organisms. There is increasing concern about MPs because they are easily exposed to a wide range of terrestrial organisms and ultimately transferred along the food web to humans. This review high- lights the environmental behavior (environmental sources, accumulation and exposure routes) of MPs in terrestrial environments and their health threaten. Given the limited evidence of the health threat of MPs to soil biota as well as on human health, it is important to understand the ecological impact of MPs. Therefore, a systematic assessment of the terrestrial environmental risk to various species from MPs is necessary. Finally, we also propose the gaps in our knowledge of the health risk of MPs and provide useful suggestions for future research directions in terrestrial ecosystems.
