摘要:In the present research study, natural perlite ob-tained specifically from the perlite mine at Balikesir, Turkey province, and expanded perlite samples that are produced at a temperature of 1000 ℃C were em-ployed in order to remove the textile dye methylene blue from wastewater. In aqueous solutions, adsorp-tion isotherm and kinetic models of methylene blue along with natural perlite and expanded perlite were determined to be in interaction. The adsorption ca-pacities of natural perlite and expanded perlite for methylene blue were respectively 0.455 mg.g',and 0.365 mg.g'!. The most efficient removal rates were determined at the following conditions: 5 mg.L-1 in-itial dye concentration,10 g.L-! adsorbent dose within 60 minutes of contact time through 25℃C wastewater temperature. The adsorption process on natural perlite was detected to be randomly compat-ible with the Freundlich and Temkin isotherm mod-els, whereas adsorption on expanded perlite was 99%compatible with the Temkin isotherm model. In this kinetic study, natural perlite and expanded perlite adapted to the pseudo-first and pseudo-second ki-netic models. It was clear that the correlation value was higher(R2=0.99) for the pseudo-second kinetic model. The correlation value was not significant for the expanded perlite obtained for pseudo-first kinetic model. Both natural and expanded perlite were 99%compatible with the pseudo-second kinetic model.
