摘要:The effect of exogenous proline (30 mM, 60mM) and glycine betaine (50 mM, 100 mM) on nickel (Ni) induced oxidative stress was evaluated in Vigna radiata L. Wilczek at three Ni concentrations (100, 125 and 150 mg Ni/kg of soil). Leaf crude pro- tein content, total soluble sugars, leaf nitrogen con- tent, SOD and CAT of treated plants decreased and Malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydrogen peroxide (H202) levels increased with a relative increase in Nitoxicity. Conversely, the specific activity of POD in- creased by 28.51% in 100 mg Ni/kg of soil stressed plants with low Ni stress but decreased in plants with higher Ni toxicity. Supplementation of both osmo- lytes increased leaf crude protein, total soluble sugar, leaf nitrogen, antioxidant enzymes and decreasedMDA, H202 levels in Ni-stressed plants. The most effective dose for alleviating Ni induced toxicity was found to be 30 mM proline. Foliar application of 100 mM GB caused further stress on the plants.
