摘要：La fiesta del carnaval y el ritmo del género musical calipso están intrínsecamente ligados a la poesía del Caribe anglófono de fines del siglo xx y comienzos del xxi. En el presente trabajo se estudia la sección “Sunris” del libro homónimo de la guyanesa Grace Nichols con el fin de explorar cómo operan estos dos ejes en el plano estructural, así como también en tanto elementos necesarios para el encuentro y puesta en acto de la herencia cultural propia del Caribe. Carnival and the rhythm of calypso have an intrinsic connection with the Anglo-Caribbean poetry of the end of 20th century and the beginning of 21st. This article explores “Sunris”, a section of the homonymous book by Guyanese Grace Nichols. My aim is to explore how these two fundamental axes work, both in the structural level and as necessary elements for the encounter and embodiment of Caribbean cultural heritage.
