摘要:The aim of this article is to observe the work of American journalist and comic strip artist Joe Sacco, entitled Footnotes in Gaza. In this work the author, through several interviews, attempts to recall the events in the hamlets of Khan Younis and Rafah, both in the Gaza Strip, about the November 1956 massacre in the wake of the 1956 Suez War. However, in addition to representing the memory of the Palestinians who experienced the events of 1956, Sacco's work intersects with the events that coincide with the period of production of his work (2002-2009). In this article, our attention will be focused on Operation Cast Lead, which took place between the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009. For this, we will use as theoretical basis the concept of representations of the French historian Roger Chartier in order to analyze the systems of representations that were being produced concomitantly to the production period of Footnotes in Gaza.
