摘要：During the first half of the 20th century, Alagoas had great relevance in the national fabric industry. The cotton weaving resulted in striking workers' conflicts, which occurred in the 1960s. This article identifies reasons why, among the workers' struggles of the period, female protagonism in the struggles for better working conditions stood out, focusing on the historical importance of the strike that occurred in 1962 at the Carmen Factory, in Macei贸, Alagoas. The article aims to analyze documents present in the present bibliography on the subject.
