摘要:Museums provide a convenient and different learning environment for students to explore the history and work with the raw data of the past. In this respect, it will be of benefit to the students to benefit from museums more actively in the education process in order to be educated as individuals, who know, own and protect their past. Determining the expectations of young people about the museums that have an important place in social studies education is important in determining the development line and the cultural values they have. The aim of this study is to reveal the expectations of 8th grade students attending Barbaros Secondary School in Battalgazi, Malatya. The study was designed on the basis of qualitative research methodology and was carried out with the participation of 32 middle school students who were educated in secondary school in April 2019. A standardized open-ended interview form was used to collect the data. Content analysis and descriptive analysis technique were used in the analysis of the data obtained in the study. At the end of the research, the students participating in the study, they like to collect in general, a museum of their own, but there are historical items, animal remains, books and movies, clothes, toys, antique cars, old coins, the sky, the universe and the objects that can solve the secret of the galaxy, blade, sword, guns, balls, lighters and jewellery, objects of different cities and 3D profiles of scientists have been found to exhibit. In addition, students in Malatya most Ethnography Museum, Hagia Sophia in Turkey and stated that they want to visit the Louvre museum in the world. It was determined that the museums in which the war tools and materials were exhibited and the participants who wanted to go to the art museums, and that the visuals in the form were generally accurate in determining the period in which they belonged.
