Since the rise of agriculture and especially since the Industrial Revolution, our booming population and productivity growth have drastically changed our planet, which has led us to a new geological era, the Anthropocene. The environmental issues caused by human activities, such as climate change and ecological damage, are significant threats to humankind and require urgent action, as suggested in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (https://sdgs.un.org/2030agenda). The mission of ACS Environmental Au is to publish work at the forefront of environmental research by presenting important discoveries and major advances in environmental science and engineering, which will help to shape our future on Earth.
