摘要:Ten years after the American Civil War, a new wave of the California Gold Rush triggered a bitter conflict between farmers and miners. The sludge from hydraulic mining activities flowed into the Sacramento Valley and devastated crops and water sources. A fictional account of this real event is relayed in the classic epic 1938 film, Gold Is Where You Find It. The effects of this ecological disaster are felt in California to this day.
