摘要:Entrepreneurs play a critically important role in the economy. By spotting opportunities and taking action to exploit them, they drive the process of market production and the fulfilment of social and economic needs (Valliere, 2013). According to Toli and Tengeh (2017), the ability to identify entrepreneurial opportunities is generally considered to be a core attribute of entrepreneurship (Shane Baker Klein, 2008; Sarasvathy, Dew, Velamuri Shane, 2012). These definitional and epistemological debates have resulted in considerable challenges and confusion regarding the empirical operationalization of opportunity identification (Cox, 2016).
