摘要:Through the theoretical reviews, the perspective of strategic studies "The Resource-Based View (RBV)" and the "Theory of Economic Complexity" were contrasted. The fundamentals, purposes and approaches of both theories were analyzed, identifying correspondences and similarities. Specifically, the origin of RBV in strategy studies was presented, as well as the relationship between complexity assumptions and developmental constructs originating from structuralism. In addition, a summary table was elaborated about the contributions of the authors who developed the thinking and applicability of the RBV, and a reference table about the level of economic complexity sectors. It was concluded that the approximations between the RBV and the Economic Complexity Theory are noticeable. Both have the reason bias in the planning, the strategy of promotion and use of resources. Its fundamentals are somewhat congruent and, although RBV is predominantly firm-oriented and Economic Complexity has greater macroeconomic use, in short, both seek to maintain competitiveness and achieve sustainable economic development.
