摘要:AbstractSelf powered neutron detectors with Vanadium/ Rhodium as emitters are widely used in large Heavy/Light Water nuclear reactors for monitoring the flux distribution inside the reactor core. However, these detectors are associated with response delay, which precludes their direct use for control and protection applications. Therefore, a method to improve the response time of these detectors would enable them for core monitoring and surveillance applications. In this paper, a residual based adaptation scheme is proposed for updating the measurement noise covariance matrix of linear Kalman filter in on-line fashion and the performance of adaptive Kalman filtering is evaluated in the problem of dynamic compensation of Vanadium and Rhodium SPNDs.
