摘要:Foreign language teacher education is influenced by personal experiences, shared knowledge through readings, talks, lectures, classes etc., and also, through values that are socially and culturally acquired. With this in mind, we highlight Teletandem as a favorable context for teacher education because it allows Brazilian students (who are studying to become teachers) to talk to foreign students and share their native/proficiency languages. Besides that, the participants are accompanied by a teacher-mediator who organizes a round-table conversation (mediation) when the Teletandem session is finished. In this paper, we discuss the mediation sessions carried out with Brazilian students at UNESP/Assis during the year of 2018. Our goals are: a) to present thediscussions made by the teacher-mediator after each session; and b) to characterize this moment of reflection as a space for foreign language teacher education. We use a qualitative research methodology and transcriptions of the recorded sessions as instruments of data collection. The results show that the Teletandem practice allows the students involved to reflect on the teaching-learning process of their native/proficiency language and the role of the teacher-mediator in this process.
