摘要：El mosquero copetón (Mitrephanes phaeocercus) es un tiránido ampliamente distribuido en las regiones montañosas de México y Centroamérica. La especie reside principalmente en bosques de pino-encino y bosques de niebla, pero se tienen registros en bosques tropicales de menor altitud durante la temporada no reproductiva en el noroeste del Pacífico mexicano. En esta nota describimos la presencia del mosquero copetón fuera de su distribución en la costa central del Golfo de México en la temporada no reproductiva (invierno 2020-2021) en el bosque de manglar del Área Natural Protegida Arroyo Moreno, Veracruz, México. Es fundamental continuar con la investigación y ciencia ciudadana de las aves en los manglares de México para entender su biología, particularmente aquellas registradas fuera de su distribución.
其他摘要：The Tufted Flycatcher (Mitrephanes phaeocercus) is a widely distributed tyrannid of the mountain regions of Mexico and Central America. The species inhabits mainly Pine-Oak and cloud forests, but there are records in lower elevation tropical forests during the non-breeding season in the Mexican Pacific northwest. In this note, we describe the presence of the Tufted Flycatcher outside of its known distribution on the central gulf coast of Mexico during the non-breeding season (winter 2020-2021), in mangrove forest of the Arroyo Moreno protected area, Veracruz, Mexico. Continued research and citizen science on birds in mangrove forests of Mexico is fundamental to understand their biology, particularly for those recorded outside their distribution.
