摘要:This study attempted to explore the choice of address terms in Spanish drama series Gran Hotel, which closely mirrors social reality by illustrating interpersonal relationships in a range of contexts. The series take place in 1906 – 1907 in Spain, in aristocratic hotel located in a town called Cantaloa during the reign of King Alfonso XIII and is centred on the mysteries that involve the owner’s family and the hotel servants. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive approach. The results revealed that the choice of address terms in the drama series is affected by the social factors such as to show intimacy, respect and affection. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that the context of interaction also plays an important role in choosing address terms. This study could facilitate the Spanish language learners to further understand the pattern and the usage of Spanish address terms in a range of contexts.
